The design aims to express its sustainability credentials in a simple manner to encourage adoption of sustainable living to everyday decisions.
The design takes a passive design approach, dealing with fundamentals of such as orientation, good light, shade and cross ventilation with the support of innovative construction methods such as pre-fabrication and modular construction to reduce wastage and its carbon footprint.
Innovative technologies such as monitoring of thermal efficiency will respond to changes in its environment such as automated louver system to provide shade or solar access to its occupants.
The design aims to be represent best practice in environmentally sustainable design in a sculptural form and set a benchmark for future development in the Ryde Area.
