This contemporary residence in Russell Lea aims to provide its occupants with ample indoor & outdoor space on a relatively small lot typical of the locality. The residence aims to maximise its solar access, yet address the challenges of a corner block position. The aim was to create a design that allow for an open plan configuration allowing a flexible use of space. The configuration and placement of elements was carefully considered to allow for the northerly aspect to be enjoyed throughout the house. A large outdoor area provides the owners with an extension of the existing lounge room to entertain friends and for birthday parties. Bi-stacking shutters to the rear outdoor area provide shade in summer due to the low angle afternoon sun while the kids take a swim in the plunge pool in the rear yard.
